Fornace Solava Technical Sponsor of the Florence Biennale 2025

Fornace Solava is proud to announce its participation as Technical Sponsor in the 15th edition of the Florence Biennale, which will take place from October 18 to 26, 2025, at the Fortezza da Basso in Florence.
On the occasion of this prestigious international event a benchmark for contemporary art and design, Solava will provide its expertise, technical know-how, and the high-quality materials that have always distinguished its production.
For over a century, Fornace Solava has preserved and renewed the artisanal tradition of Tuscan brickmaking, fostering an ongoing dialogue between history, innovation, and creativity. Participation in the Florence Biennale is a tribute to art and design as expressive forms capable of enhancing matter and transforming it into a work of art.
We are honored to join world-renowned figures such as film director Tim Burton, recipient of the “Lorenzo il Magnifico” Lifetime Achievement Award for Art, and designer Award for Design, Patricia Urquiola. Two extraordinary figures symbols of creativity and international excellence, whose vision reflects Solava’s core values: research, passion and innovation.
A special thanks goes to architect Angelo Lavanga for his technical and design contribution, and Enrico Acquasanta for his shared vision and collaboration, which made this important project possible.
Through its participation in the Florence Biennale 2025, Fornace Solava renews its commitment to promoting the value of brick as a material for art, once again confirming that tradition can serve as the strongest foundation for building the future of innovation and creativity.

Solava as Technical Sponsor at the EdilTrophy 2025 in Pistoia

On September 13, 2025, Pistoia will host the Masonry Art Competition – Tuscany Regional Selection, a challenge that brings together bricklayers of all ages to showcase their skill, precision, and creativity.
For this special occasion, Solava will supply the building materials used by the competitors during the trials: the solid “Anticato” facing brick, along with other terracotta materials.
The event, organized by Scuola Edile CPT Pistoia with the support of Formedil and leading partners in the construction sector, represents an important opportunity to enhance and promote the craftsmanship of masonry.
By taking part in this initiative, Solava reaffirms its commitment to supporting the training of new generations and to promoting the culture of quality building using materials that embody the strength and beauty of Italian construction.

Obtained CAM Certification

We are proud to announce that our products have also obtained CAM certification. This recognition, in addition to the ANAB Bio-Construction certification, confirms SOLAVA’s ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability. We chose to embark on this path after careful consideration–not just as a regulatory obligation, but to take concrete actions in favor of the environment and the circular economy. How? By exclusively using by-products from our own production and prioritizing local suppliers to reduce transport-related emissions. Thanks to these choices, we have achieved recognition for zero-kilometer sourcing! The CAM certification, issued by the accredited body ICMQ, confirms that our products meet the highest environmental standards. By choosing SOLAVA, our clients—designers, retailers, and end users—will contribute to building more sustainable structures and reducing environmental impact.
