Olive Hill House
Perched on a hillside overlooking the city of Vlorë, where the Ionian and Adriatic Seas meet, Olive Hill House is set within a distinctly Mediterranean landscape of olive groves, citrus trees and open views towards Sazan Island.Originally built in the late 1980s, the house has undergone a renovation aimed at strengthening the relationship between architecture and its natural surroundings. The project favoured the use of materials and craftsmanship developed in collaboration with local makers, enhancing the authentic character of the place.
Solava’s QuadroBrise-Soleil was incorporated as a screening element within the façade, contributing to the control of natural light while defining the building’s architectural identity. The geometric pattern of the terracotta element creates a balance between permeability, shading and privacy, establishing a harmonious dialogue with the colours and textures of the Mediterranean landscape.
